UNVI, with more than 25 years of experience as bus bodybuilder, in its desire to reinforce its long-term strategy, has undertaken a complete reform of its facilities in Porto (Portugal).
The factory was built in the mid-1960s and has been owned by UNVI since 2006.
The renovation began in 2018 and has been completed in spring 2020. The inauguration has been postponed as it could not be otherwise for prevention during COVID19 period.
For UNVI it has been a very important investment. All areas have been renewed to adapt the facilities to our standards, contributing absolutely to achieve the vision of our company: “Consolidate UNVI as a benchmark company in moving solutions with high added value, supported by its three main pillars: safety, quality and productivity, respecting the environment and thanks to teamwork, rigour, proactivity, training and continuous development that contribute to a constant spirit of improvement of the people who make it up”.
All workspaces have been redesigned under the premise of the highest safety and comfort conditions, with the utmost attention to ensuring the necessary conditions to manufacture a high quality product, without sacrificing the versatility and flexibility that our customers appreciate so much.
In the last quarter of 2020, an important order of 30 units of our urban model UNVI URBIS has been delivered to Horários de Funchal (Madeira, Portugal), with a version specially adapted to the orography of the routes and stops of the destination.
This December, we are starting the series of a new urban order with the new C21 body.

SKYBUS performs the “drivers’ parade ”in Fuji with our UNVI DDOT buses, in the“ ABACS Super GT – 2020 Series ”in Japan.

Our loyal customer Skybus (HINOMARU group, Japan) has provided some of the last DoubleDecker Open Top UNVI DDOT buses delivered in 2019 for the “ABACS Super GT – 2020 Series” Organization for the last race performed in the Japanese circuit of Fuji.

After the race, the drivers went around the circuito n the upper deck of the buses for greeting the attending spectators to the race, respecting the strict social distance rules defined by the Authorities.

These DoubleDecker Open Top buses were delivered in 2019 and we are finishing a new batch order which will be delivered for the Tokio 2020 Olympic Games, delayed to 2021 due to the  COVID19 pandemia.

Their configuration is specially adapted to the high requirements from our customer, on top of quality standards transferred to the material quality use don these buses.

This is not the first time that our DDOT buses are involved in Sport events. Only in 2018, our customer Open Tour Paris used the 100% electric UNVI e.DDOT for the Formula E race, for the Ryder Cup 2018 and for the parade of French National Football team who won the 2018 World Championship, enjoying a ZERO EMISSION ride.

HORÁRIOS DO FUNCHAL renews its fleet and its trust in UNVI. Before end of this year 2020, UNVI factories will have delivered 30 new urban buses for Madeira Island, Portugal.

Once proof the worth and technical and competitive capability of our factories CAMO and UNVI, the group have been awarded with the last international public tender released by the transport company of Funchal, Portugal. We are pleased to have delivered 30 urban buses of our model UNVI URBIS over VOLVO B8R LE chassis. The new UNVI URBIS comply with all the very demanding requirements of our loyal customer HORÁRIOS DO FUNCHAL; the buses are built according the specific needs of this customer in combination with the special characteristics of the service and the orography of Funchal. The island’s citizens will enjoy a brand new bus fleet, more sustainable, more accessible and safer, considering all the implemented COVID19 actions.

We were delighted to have recently delivered a new UNVI midibus to our valued customer Oslo Minibuss.

Oslo Minibuss service all transportation needs, from school runs to airport transfers to day trips and more across Norway.

UNVI has delivered 3 new URBIS DDOTs to our loyal client BUS VERKEHR BERLIN (BVB), a sightseeing operator in the city of Berlin, Germany. BVB, with more than 70 coaches and 30 citybuses, also provides public transport services in the Berlin-Brandenburg region.

The 3 new URBIS DDOT’s have been integrated into the modernization process of the sightseeing fleet of the traditional yellow buses that operates in the city of Berlin. Among other features, the URBIS DDOT incorporates a Mercedes Benz OC500 euro 6D chassis, automatic transmission, Full Pneumatic, 66 seats and space reserved for a passenger in wheelchair with an access ramp in the central door, a sliding hood and removable 50% opening upper deck windows for quick adaptation to all weather conditions (4-seasons), multivocal audio equipment with translation for 8/16 languages, USB charging sockets, driver’s air conditioning, reinforced lower and upper deck heating and independent heating for driver, sliding doors metro type, etc.

Last June, Somaco Tours, operator of the CitySightseeing franchise in Athens (Greece), received a new URBIS DDOT UNVI to reinforce their fleet during the summer season.

Somaco Tours is specialized in sightseeing operation in the Greek capital and Piraeus area, including reception and incoming for Sea Cruises, as well as, the organization of excursions and tours tailored to any client.

The new URBIS DDOT joins an exclusive sightseeing fleet of more than 12 units, most of them UNVI. This brand new DDOT includes a Volvo B5 Euro 6D chassis, automatic transmission/gearbox, Full Pneumatic and kneeling, 77 seats for outdoor use and space reserved for a passenger in a wheelchair with an access ramp on the central door, a sliding hood on the second floor for quick adaptation to all weather conditions, multivocal audio equipment with translation for 8/16 languages, USB charging sockets, passenger air conditioning lower deck and independent for driver, etc.

We were delighted to recently deliver a new UNVI SIL Scania to our valued customer JUMBO BUS OY, Helsinki. Jumbo Bus OY is specialised in the organisation of tailor-made tours for their clients, with the incorporation of UNVI SIL to their fleet they will be able to provide a VIP service for up to 91 people.
Their new UNVI SIL built on Scania KEB450 6×2 chassis with Auto gearbox, cruise control, lane & brake assist and trimmed seats with WC.

We were delighted to recently deliver a second new UNVI Mercedes Voyager GT+ to our valued customer Ambassador Line Ltd in Marlow, High Wycombe.
Ambassador Line Ltd service all transportation needs, from school runs to airport transfers to day trips and more across the UK.
Their new UNVI Voyager GT+ features: Mercedes-Benz 240HP, Auto gearbox, cruise control, lane & brake assist, 34 passenger seats trimmed in leather.
Hispacold air conditioning, dark tint double glaze windows, USB charging points, Bosch Professional audio system, DVD and monitor, large useable luggage space and much more.

The most equipped microbus on the market.

As a result of this collaboration, this microbus has an attractive design with big versatility, with different version which cover any kind of services, like sightseeing tours, shuttle to hotels and airports, or the always exclusive VIP services.

Available the first units for 19 seats plus driver, 22 seats plus driver on the XL version.

The customers might check other configurations among the flexibility thanks to the close collaboration between MAN Truck & Bus Iberia and UNVI, as the 3-wheelchair version which also allows up to 6 seats plus driver.

Both the external and internal design has been developed with the highest detail to reach a microbus with a nice-looking appeal, maximum comfort for driver and passengers, on top of some features that the customers will appreciate as better roomy, more space for personal bags under the seats.

Both companies expect great success out of this agreement.
